    Join the ULI Philadelphia Young Leaders for an off the record conversation with Anne Cummins, COO, Gattuso Development Partners, on what it’s like to transition from a senior executive position at a publicly traded real estate investment trust to co-founding her own development company. She'll dig into how she got into real estate, her critical skills for success, the most surprising challenges of her career so far and the shift from developing in the suburbs to leading projects in the urban core. 
     
    Anne is a recognized leader in the real estate community and continues to expand her breadth of experience at Gattuso Development Partners, a firm committed to developing new and creative work environments that reimagine the workplace. Anne is also very active in ULI Philadelphia, currently serving as the Chair of Mission Advancement, where she is charged with ensuring that ULI best practices, policies, and programs are integrated into the District Council’s activities and outreach.

    Anne will be in conversation with Mark Sanderson, Principal and founding partner at DIGSAU, a Philadelphia-based studio practicing contemporary architecture, urbanism and environmental design.     Mark Sanderson is a Principal and founding partner at DIGSAU, a Philadelphia-based studio practicing contemporary architecture, urbanism and environmental design. With a commitment to their core values of design excellence, experimentation, and attentiveness to the material culture, the firm’s work strives to create meaningful places that empower and inspire people to be more creative, productive, and fulfilled. Founded in 2007, the office operates as an open studio, with a staff of over thirty individuals from diverse backgrounds. Since its inception, the firm has been recognized with over forty AIA design awards and in 2013 was named one of North America’s “Emerging Voices” by the Architectural League of New York.

    Through her dynamic career in development, Anne Cummins has established a proven track record of bringing visionary concepts into reality. Anne Cummins is Chief Operating Officer of Gattuso Development Partners, a developer of exceptional, sustainable and high performance workplaces. As COO, Anne collaborates with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision and operational strategy, translating strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth. Anne oversees operations to create the environment for success of the team members and the organization as a whole. As Vice President, Leasing and Development for Liberty Property Trust, one of the nation’s largest real estate investment trusts, she led the ground-up, game-changing development at The Camden Waterfront, the initial phase of which represented $500 million of development within three years. Anne was directly responsible for developing the American Water headquarters building on the Delaware River, as well as the Adaptimmune North American headquarters building, a purpose-built CAR-T immunotherapy lab and office building, at The Navy Yard in Philadelphia. During her 12-year tenure at Liberty, Anne guided hundreds of companies towards maximizing the benefit of their most critical asset – office space - to attract, retain and inspire their employees and promote long term success. She started her career as a developer for The DeMutis Group, the company leading the revitalization of downtown Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, a former steel town recognized by Forbes, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine for its uniquely successful redevelopment. In addition, Anne serves as the incoming Chair for Mission Advancement of ULI Philadelphia and is on the board of the Phoenixville Area Economic Development Corporation. Anne earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, with a concentration in Real Estate. She received her BA in International Relations and French from Bucknell University. She resides with her husband and two sons in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
