The conversation around the physical implications of the future of work has largely focused on how to reuse office buildings. An endless number of events, articles, and tours have explored what’s possible for the buildings from a financial, zoning, structural, and architectural standpoint. We think it’s time for that conversation to go to the NEXT level. Join the ULI Philadelphia NEXT Cohort as we pivot that conversation in Philadelphia to look at the bigger picture. What is the right mix of uses to support a vibrant Center City and an active public realm? What are the national trends? How is Philly following (or not)? Where are the opportunities?

Join us for an insightful panel discussion aimed at addressing the challenges and opportunities in urban development and economic revitalization in the era of hybrid and remote work. This event brings together experts from diverse fields, including Tony Bracali of Drexel University, Rebecca Nuver of Parkway Corporation, and Lauren Smith from the Center City District, under the moderation of Nicole Ozdemir from the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. Together, they will explore innovative solutions for the office space crisis, urban design, and how cities can adapt to support economic growth in center city districts.

This engaging session is crafted for urban planners, developers, policymakers, and anyone intrigued by the evolving landscape of work and urban living, offering insights into reimagining our cities for a post-pandemic future.
