2019 Young Leaders Exchange: Minneapolis / St. Paul
Registration now open for the 2019 Young Leader Exchange in Minneapolis / St. Paul, August 1-3.
Reading Terminal Market will invest $1M to transform Filbert Street into a pedestrian plaza that will include a curbless street, wider sidewalks, wayfinding signage and retractable ballards, among other key interventions. The improvements, which were also a recommendation in ULI Philadelphia’s Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) from May 2015, will allow for more retail and dining options, and are modeled after other public space improvements throughout the city.
ULI TAPs harness multidisciplinary expertise of members to help communities solve challenging land use, development, and redevelopment issues on behalf of government agencies and community-based nonprofits. To view the Reading Terminal Headhouse Terminal TAP Report, click here.
“Fostering and nurturing the ‘Cosmopolitan Canopy’ that exists inside the Reading Terminal is one of our core priorities, and what better way to do this than to extend the Market atmosphere out onto the sidewalk,” said Anuj Gupta, General Manager of the Reading Terminal Market.
The project is expected to open in Spring 2020. To learn more, click here.
