On the morning of Thursday, October 18th, ULI Philadelphia had the exclusive opportunity to tour Society Hill’s new ultra-luxury residential tower, 500 Walnut, as well as the newly delivered class A mixed-use project on Broad and Washington, Lincoln Square. The morning started off at 500 Walnut with remarks from Tom Scannapieco of Scannapieco Development Corporation, the site’s developer, and Cecil Baker of Cecil Baker + Partners, Architects, the building’s architect, discussing what makes this particular building so unique. This was followed by a tour of the fully automated mechanical parking garage that parks residents’ cars for them by use of machines only. The group then split into smaller groups led by Eric Leighton and Dan Kayser (Cecil Baker + Partners, Architects) and Paula Celletti-Baron and Rod Werner (Scannapieco Development) to tour the beautifully designed residential spaces, including the unfinished 24th floor, that look out to stunning views of the city.
A trolley ride over to the crossroads of Center City and South Philadelphia, brought the group to Lincoln Square where Leo Addimando of Alterra Property Group and Steve Gendler of MIS Capital LLC gave the group an inside look at their new mixed used development that includes 322 class A apartments, over 100,000 square feet of retail and over 400 parking spaces for public and residential use. The group got a look at the under construction Amenity Deck as well as various model units that included everything from studio apartments to 3-bedroom units. The rooftop amenity area will feature a lounge area with TVs, fire pits, and barbecues- as well as a small running track and beautiful views of the skyline.
