Philadelphia's Historic Neighborhoods named 'National Treasure' and 2nd Best U.S. Vacation Destination

Whether is shopping, walkability, or the Pope visit, Philadelphia continues to rack up the accolades. In June the city ‘s historic Neighborhoods were named a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Mayor Kenney hopes that the new historic preservation task force, which was announced in April, can identify best practices and encourage more preservation-minded development. Read more here:
The rich historical heritage of Philadelphia, and the fact that it is the first and only city in the USA to be named a UNESCO World Heritage City, helped the city beat out Honolulu, Maui, and San Francisco for the second best U.S. vacation destination by U.S. News & World Report.
