RECAP: Tour of Downtown York Revitalization

On November 1, 2018 members of ULI Philadelphia and colleagues in the Central Pennsylvania region descended upon downtown York for a tour of recent redevelopment in Royal Square and West Market Street. Dylan Bauer, President of Development at Royal Square Development and Construction (RSDC), lead over 25 ULI members on a journey through historic buildings repurposed into mixed-use event, office, retail, restaurant and artists’ space.

One could immediately feel RSDC’s connection to the arts community in Royal Square. Murals throughout the neighborhood,  art galleries and an eclectic mix of tenants (including a vintage marketplace, Parliament Arts Organization and the colorful Cantina Courtyard) make Royal Square an authentic space for creatives. RSDC plans to build upon their successes with their next project, housing for local artists. With the help of LIHTC  funds, this will replace an under utilized surface parking lot.

Thank you to Paragon for sponsoring this terrific program and RSDC for giving ULI a sneak peak of whats to come in York.
