The Brookings Institution released a new report focusing on the Innovation District between University City and Center City. The 18-month study, titled “Connect to compete: How the University City-Center City innovation district can help Philadelphia excel globally and serve locally,” examines the role of the innovation district as a regional economic hub and as a key part of Philadelphia’s efforts to become a world-class innovation city.
The report highlights some of the assets in the district, and offers a series of recommendations including establishing an Innovation Council with membership from the district’s stakeholder anchor institutions, corporations, and civic leaders.
The Brookings team charged our collective industries to collaborate and leverage our assets for inclusive growth and an innovation boom. ULI looks forward to working with the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia to advance these ideas.
