    The ULI Philadelphia Young Leaders Group is proud to present the 9th annual ULI Philadelphia Shark Tank event. Join emerging real estate developers as they pitch their projects to local real estate industry leaders. This year's Shark Tank will showcase the future of development in the Greater Philadelphia area, with more energy, fresh ideas, and unconventional solutions - our Sharks and Fish are all 35 and under, Join us for a fun evening where our Sharks will sink their teeth into two exciting projects and determine which project has the greatest potential for investment!

     

    Registration includes light refreshments, happy hour, and additional networking time following the formal program.

    Lauren Smith

    Manager, Center City District

    Lauren Smith is the Manager of Economic Development at Center City District in Philadelphia. She supports CCD’s efforts to strengthen the commercial office sector, retain and attract high-quality tenants, and support property owners, brokers, and developers in the economic growth of Center City. Prior to her current role, Lauren worked at Center City District as a Research Analysis where she was responsible for demographics, housing, commercial development, and employment data. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography & Urban Studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Temple University.

    Ramune Bartuskaite

    FIFTEEN Architecture + Design

    Ramune Bartuskaite is the CEO and Founder of an advocacy platform called Spec Matters whose mission is to empower the building industry to write healthier specifications and make better material selections—because these decisions matter. Architects, interior designers, and developers are making material selections every day without knowing the impact on human health and the environment. Spec Matters is a free website and newsletter solving this problem by providing a hub of accessible healthy building information. Ramune is an architect at FIFTEEN Architecture + Design in Philadelphia—a practice driven by the desire to affect positive change. FIFTEEN is committed to delivering a new model for the practice, improving client experience and project delivery through smart partnerships and new processes. As a healthy building advocate who has developed an expertise in navigating the many resources and tools available for designing healthier buildings, Ramune’s insights result in spaces that enhance the wellbeing of the many building users and occupants served by FIFTEEN. Ramune is a Lithuanian immigrant and a first-generation graduate. She holds a Masters of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture with a Marketing Minor from Miami University, and a Certificate in Healthier Materials and Sustainable Building from Parsons School of Design. She’s a recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for leadership, willing service, and promise of professional merit and a co-editor of a book titled Women [Re]Build: Stories, Polemics, Futures. The book highlights female architects, designers, scholars, and educators who are pushing the boundaries of architecture and design.

    As a community development strategist, I activate capital to drive inclusive economic growth. I am an experienced relationship builder with expertise in affordable housing policy and programs, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), financial inclusion, and the social determinants of health. I leverage my background in financial services, public policy, and corporate social responsibility to develop evidence-based strategies that advance economic mobility.
