Finalists Chosen for 2019 ULI Hines Competition

The selection of four finalist teams for the 2019 ULI Hines Student Competition took place February 11 and February 12 at ULI’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. The jury, chaired by ULI Foundation Governor Alex Rose, evaluated 90 entries for this year’s competition challenge, which involves linking the central business district in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the downtown waterfront using a decked highway. Event Recap: “The Future of Work”

About 200 ULI members and colleagues came together on Thursday, February 14th at the Free Library of Philadelphia for the kick-off of the Future of Work project, partnered by ULI Philadelphia and PIDC. Keynote speaker, Susan Lund from the McKinsey Global Institute, started off the morning with a presentation on her research into the future of work, followed by two panels who discussed topics ranging from national job disruption to empathy in artificial intelligence. On Wednesday, February 6th, ULI members and colleagues gathered at the newly constructed University of Delaware STAR Campus. The event “Disrupting Real Estate with Technology: A New Era Demands New Thinking” highlighted specific trends and innovations within the industry, such as urbanization, flexibility, the sharing economy, digitization, mobility and artificial intelligence.
