The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm has a New Director

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Meadowbrook Farm, for which ULI Philadelphia conducted a Technical Assistance Panel last year, has a new director,  Jenny Rose Carey. Carey is a longtime horticultural educator, historian and author, and will bring a hands-on approach to the Abington Township landscape jewel.  Meadowbrook Farm is the former estate of renowned florist, landscape artist, and Philadelphia Flower Show chairman and adviser, J. Liddon Pennock, who bequeathed the 1930s stone house and grounds to Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. “Jenny Rose will bring Liddon’s beautiful legacy to life,” said Pennsylvania Horticultural Society president, Drew Becher. ULI Philadelphia member, Antonio Fiol-Silva of WRT Selected for 2015 Class of Fellows for Rose Center for Public Leadership

The Urban Land Institute (ULI) announced on November 19, 2014 that Antonio Fiol-Silva, principal at Wallace Roberts and Todd (WRT) in Philadelphia along with the mayors of Boston, Omaha, Pittsburgh and Seattle have been selected to participate in the 2015 class of fellows for the Rose Center for Public Leadership. Fiol-Silva is one of only eight urban development and design leaders nationally and the only expert locally appointed to provide counsel to the 2015 class. We had a wonderful turnout and are extremely grateful to those who participated in our silent auction! Congratulations to all of the auction winners! You helped make our 3rd Annual Silent Auction to benefit the ULI Philadelphia Future Leaders Scholarship Fund a great success! Urban Land Institute Philadelphia Releases Report on Transforming Market Square in Harrisburg, PA

At the request of Modern Transit Partnership (MTP), Urban Land Institute Philadelphia, the tri-state District Council of the global non-profit Urban Land Institute, conducted a Technical Assistance Panel(TAP) to study opportunities and challenges surrounding the public Transfer Center in Market Square. The report strongly recommends moving the existing Transfer Center to the Harrisburg Transportation Center, and outlines a process that will enable MTP to achieve its goal of creating a truly multi-modal transportation center, while laying the groundwork for economic development and a vital, energetic downtown.
