Making Joe Frazier’s Gym a historical site won’t be easy

Joe Frazier‘s Gym on N. Broad Street is an iconic location, where the former heavyweight champion trained for classic bouts with Muhammad Ali — like the Fight of the Century and the Thrilla in Manilla. But the gym closed in 2008 and Smokin’Joe died in 2011. The space has since been sold and leased to a retail furniture store.
